For a perfect August evening of atmospheric music, À la Park visitors will be treated to singer-songwriter José González, known for his folk-style indie pop. The Swedish artist rose to fame in the early 2000s as a soloist with indie rock band Junip, before embarking on a successful solo career. González's distinctive style of guitar playing and his soothingly atmospheric vocals have captivated fan bases not only in Europe but also in the United States.

After his 2015 hit Vestiges & Claws, González started the new decade with the understated album Local Valley in 2021, followed by a remix EP in 2023. Gonzalez, who has also created music for films, has been seen in Helsinki before, but his return to the city's summer evening has been a long time coming. Now the wait is rewarded and the musical magician's enchanting live performances can be experienced in Meripuisto, surrounded by friends and a bubbling drink in hand.
