SPECIAL GUEST: KOTI BY TONI TOIVANEN & JUHO EKEGREN

Internationally renowned Finnish chefs Toni Toivanen and Juho Ekegren are opening their own restaurant for two days at À la Park. Koti (‘home’ in English) take techniques and flavors the chef’s have mastered around the world and combine them with seasonal Finnish ingredients, resulting in a 5-course menu offered exclusively to À la Park festival guests. 

Toivanen, a former key member of Noma (three Michelin stars and five-time winner of the title of the world’s best restaurant) and Ekegren, head chef at the wildly popular burger restaurant Popl run by Noma chefs, will create a unique tasting menu, which will be served in an intimate fine dining restauran. With five seatings in total, the menu will be enjoyed at long communal tables, with only 56 guests per seating. 

Toivanen worked at Noma and its Test Kitchen in Copenhagen for nearly a decade, while Ekegren is known as the former owner and head chef of Chapter, which was named Restaurant of the Year in 2019 before closing its doors.

IMPORTANT CUSTOMER INFO:

  • Service begins at the time indicated on the ticket. We recommend arriving no later than 10 minutes before the service begins.
  • All special diets will be taken into account as well as possible, but due to festival conditions, we cannot guarantee that all requests can be fulfilled.
  • Special diets and allergies must be reported to us by email (nea@fullsteam.fi) by Sunday July 20th.
  • A carefully curated drink package has been designed to complement the menu, and it can be purchased on-site.
  • If you are unable to attend, you can resell your ticket through Lippu.fi’s resale service Fansale, which closes on Friday, August 1st at 12PM. You may also give your ticket to someone else. Please note that attending also requires a festival ticket.

Toni Toivanen:

  • Worked at Hans Välimäki’s two-Michelin-starred Chez Dominique, quickly rising to the top ranks of the kitchen
  • Spent nearly a decade working alongside René Redzepi at Noma and later in Noma’s test kitchen
  • Currently leads both the Noma test kitchen and the acclaimed Popl Burger kitchen
  • Named to Forbes' 30 Under 30 list in 2016 (Arts category)

Juho Ekegren:

  • Worked at Chez Dominique under Hans Välimäki
  • Co-founder and head chef of the award-winning restaurant Chapter
  • Currently Head Chef at Popl, a Copenhagen restaurant under the Noma umbrella
  • Previously worked at leading Helsinki restaurants such as Ask, Spis, and Olo
